Who is responsible

Hemvik is the data controller for the information processed in Hemvik.

What we collect

Account: name, email address and a hashed password. Family content: members, calendar events, chores, meals, routines, presence, and documents/photos you upload. Technical data: device model, language, timezone and screen settings needed for the service to work.

Why we process it

To deliver the service you ordered (contract): calendar, chores, meals and screens. To improve and secure the service (legitimate interest). The Hemi AI feature only processes your family data when you use it, and only with the context you allow in the Hemi settings. News and marketing are sent only with your consent.

Who we share it with

We never share your data with other families. We use these processors to run the service: Vercel — web app hosting. Neon (PostgreSQL) — database. Ably — real-time updates to the screens. OpenAI / Anthropic — Hemi's AI replies; they only receive the family context shown in Hemi. Daily — video calls to the screens. ClickSend — SMS messages you send yourself. Entur, MatBuddy and Open-Meteo — departures, recipes and weather. Resend — email for sign-in and notifications. Some processors handle data outside the EU/EEA. Such transfers use the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

Adults in the family create the children's profiles and control what is shown. Enter only what the child's day requires.

How long we keep it

Data is kept while the account is active. When you request deletion a 7-day grace period starts during which you can cancel — after that the account, the family if you are its only member, and uploaded documents and photos are permanently deleted.

Cookies

We only use necessary cookies: the sign-in session, display pairing and device sessions for external contacts. There are no tracking or advertising cookies, so no cookie banner is needed.

Your rights

You can view, correct, export or delete your data at any time in the app (My profile). You can withdraw consent and object to processing. For complaints, contact us at personvern@hemvik.no or your local data protection authority.

Security

Traffic is encrypted, the database is encrypted at rest, and each family's data is isolated from other families. Internal access is limited.

Changes
